FAQs

What types of diamond necklaces does Diamond Brothers purchase?

Diamond Brothers buys diamond pendants, riviera necklaces, tennis necklaces, lavalier necklaces, cluster necklaces and chokers featuring diamonds. Necklaces in platinum, 18k gold, 14k gold and white gold are accepted, including modern designs, antique pieces and bespoke commissions from European jewellery houses.

Are diamond pendants and tennis necklaces evaluated differently?

Yes. A diamond pendant is valued primarily on the central stone's 4Cs, the chain's metal weight and the setting design. A tennis necklace is valued on the cumulative carat weight and matching of all stones, the link construction, clasp condition and overall length, requiring a separate assessment approach by certified gemologists.

Can I sell a diamond necklace I inherited from a relative?

Yes. Inherited diamond necklaces are accepted by Diamond Brothers, including Victorian rivieres, Edwardian lavaliers and Art Deco geometric designs. Certified gemologists in Antwerp assess the original craftsmanship, period authenticity, diamond cut style and metal hallmarks. Provenance documentation such as family records or original receipts strengthens the valuation on the European resale market.

Does the chain metal affect a diamond necklace valuation?

Yes. The chain metal contributes to the overall valuation through its purity (platinum, 18k, 14k or 9k gold) and weight in grams. Solid construction adds more value than hollow chains. Worn chains can be replaced separately, with the diamonds valued independently of the chain's condition by Diamond Brothers.

Will Diamond Brothers buy a damaged diamond necklace?

Yes. Diamond necklaces with missing stones, broken clasps or worn settings are accepted by Diamond Brothers. Certified gemologists assess the remaining diamonds and metal content separately. Damaged pieces are valued on the recoverable diamonds and precious metal weight, with the original setting condition factored into the final offer issued to the seller.

How much is a solitaire diamond pendant worth?

A solitaire diamond pendant's value is determined primarily by the central stone's 4Cs (carat, colour, clarity, cut), the metal type and weight of the setting and chain, and any GIA, IGI or HRD certification. Diamond Brothers' certified gemologists provide a free valuation after physical inspection at the Antwerp office, with the final offer issued in EUR.
